Porsche has officially unveiled the next-generation 911 Cup, a purpose-built racecar for its global one-make series including the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and Carrera Cup. Set to debut in 2026, this machine is based on the 992.2-generation 911, and it’s packed with refinements aimed at performance, cost-efficiency, and ease of use for race teams.

Performance & Powertrain

  • Engine: 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six
  • Output: Increased to 520 PS (approx. 512 hp), up 10 PS from the previous model
  • Upgrades:
    • Revised camshaft profile for longer valve opening times
    • Individual throttle valves (no central throttle body)
    • Sintered-metal clutch for improved launch
    • 6-speed sequential dogbox transmission
    • Optional air restrictor for broader GT category eligibility

Aerodynamics & Exterior Enhancements

  • Front:
    • Three-piece splitter for easier, cheaper repairs
    • Louvred fender vents to boost front axle downforce
    • Turning vanes behind front wheels for optimized airflow
    • Daytime running lights removed to reduce radiator damage risk

    • Redesigned engine cover
    • Most body panels made from recycled carbon fiber fleece and bio-based resin

    • Larger 380 mm front discs (thicker cross-section)
    • Bosch M5 ABS system with fluid leak detection

    • Revised steering stops for tighter turning radius
    • Improved oversteer control
