imperfect 911.jpg
Rob Sasse, editor-in-chief of Porsche Panorama magazine, wrote an interesting article for PCA about the joys of owning an “imperfect” Porsche 911 that is “never going to be anyone’s heirloom.” The car is an Arctic Silver 1999 996 coupe with over 215,000 miles. Rob mainly uses it for leisurely road trips and running occasional errands. “There’s an intrinsic joy in using the car as just another car,” he noted. “[Doing things like] dropping kids off at school, getting groceries, going to Target.”

Another bonus: he isn’t filled with dread by the prospect of a new rock chip or door ding. “I feel less protective of the car than I did of my concours-quality, low-mileage, factory aero-kit 996," Rob confessed. "For example, I didn’t flip out when my better half dropped a tequila bottle on the fender. I still smile when I see the tiny divot.”

We at Isringhausen understand completely. While we appreciate automotive masterpieces like the 1991 911 Singer “Greenwich Commission” we recently had in inventory, we also enjoy the simple pleasures of motoring across town in our daily drivers. It's also why we carry a range of Porsche vehicles to fit most needs and budgets.
