The third generation of Porsche Panamera is coming next year. The latest iteration of the sports car manufacturer's luxury sedan includes a wider range of digital features, a fresh and expressive design and a broader spectrum between dynamic performance and driving comfort.
The new Panamera's revamped appearance lends the sports sedan an even more expressive and sporting look. Up front, an additional air intake above the license plate compensates for the increased air requirement of the drive systems. The redesigned window line in the side view reinforces the sedan character of the four-door sports car. The outer edges of the rear window are flush with the body's contour, creating harmonious lines at the rear of the car.
The cockpit features the ideal balance between digital and analog control elements. The gear selector lever is directly to the right of the steering wheel. The mode switch for the Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus driving and the assistance control stalks are also directly accessible to the driver. This means they don’t need to take their eyes off the road to adjust the drive programs and assistance systems.
Under the hood, the Panamera still has power to spare. A 2.9-liter V6 turbo engine generates 348 hp and 368 ft-lbs. of torque, propelling the vehicle from 0-60 mph in a blistering 5.1 seconds. Top speed is a ferocious 169 mph, although we don't advise attempting that on highways. In addition to the standard Panamera and Panamera 4 variants, four E-Hybrid models will be offered.
The Sports Sedan for Porsche Lovers
The Porsche Panamera has been a hit with drivers since its introduction in 2009. As a front-engine, four-passenger luxury hatchback, the Panamera is Porsche's take on the luxury sports sedan. While the shape and profile recall the 911, Panamera emphasizes space and comfort over pure performance.
Car lovers have heaped praise on the Panamera over the years. Car and Driver calls it "the Porsche 911 for people with kids" while U.S. News and World Report says Panamera "blends practicality, performance and luxury in a way that few other cars do." You can see our current Panamera inventory here.
